  8. This is the Communications Option Menu.  By selecting the appropriate option
  9. number you may initiate file transfers, change the current communications
  10. parameters, invoke an ACTION file, issue a DOS command, or hang up the phone.

  12. @3Receiving a File@1
  13.   Press the '1' key.  You will be prompted with another box asking for the
  14.   filename (the file to be written to on your disk).  You may enter a full
  15.   pathname up to 40 characters long.  After entering the filename, check
  16.   that the file transfer 'Method' is correct.  If not, press @f and then
  17.   @s to change the value.  Then press @C to begin the transfer.

  20.   Press the '2' key.  Enter the filename and method just as you would for
  21.   receiving a file (above).  Then press @C to begin the transfer.@

  25. @3Changing Communications Parameters@1
  26.   Press the '3' key.  You will be presented with the Communications Parameters
  27.   screen for the current record.  You may change any field.  In most cases
  28.   the change will take effect as soon as you return to communications mode.

  30. @3Issuing DOS Commands@1
  31.   Press the '4' key to enter the world of DOS temporarily.  You will see
  32.   the d> prompt just like in normal DOS, except the cursor will be larger
  33.   (so you don't forget you are still running BitCom).  You may enter any
  34.   DOS command.    Press ─┘ in answer to the prompt to return to BitCom.

  36. @3Running an ACTION File@1
  37.   Press the '5' key to see a list of BitCom "Action" files, and optionally
  38.   select one to be run.  Action files are files with a .ACT name extension.

  40. @3Hang Up Phone@1
  41.   You may "hang up" the phone by pressing the '6' key.  This sends the global
  42.   "Hangup String" to the modem.@.
